Gift Giving Ideas
Have you ever thought about beginning a holiday tradition with your gift giving during the holiday season?
I know I always look forward to family traditions during the holidays. I have many cherished childhood memories of looking forward to the expected and customary. My parents had childhood friends from Pennsylvania that always sent a gallon of maple syrup and a box of maple candy in the shape of tiny Christmas ornament.
My brother to this day looks forward to the Christmas cactus that my Mother started sending to him back in the early 60’s. Yearly, my aunt provided us with a cheerful amaryllis plant always arriving on the 15th of December. We all enjoyed watching it grow and bloom. How great is it to start a family or friend gift giving tradition?
Whether it be an annual fresh pine wreath with a bright red bow to hang on your front door or the traditional red poinsettia handsomely decorated with holiday ribbons, pinecones and ornaments your recipients’ will begin to look forward to these traditional gifts. One of my favorite gifts to send is a long lasting phalaenopsis orchid plant dressed in a holiday container or just a good old fashioned Christmas floral arrangement with greens, pinecones, roses, lilies, berries and fragrant candles. Once you begin your traditional gift giving, you will be amazed at how your family and friends will eagerly look forward to next year’s treasure. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season!
