The Hill Country Is Alive With Wedding Bells Ringing
Approximately 20 thousand brides will walk down the aisle in Austin, Texas and surrounding areas in 2013. With over 200 wedding venues to choose from, over 150 wedding and event planners available, numerous catering companies, florists, cake bakers, rental companies, wedding gown boutiques, lighting experts, stationary stores…. No wonder a bride can sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed!
What’s a girl to do?
The wedding to do list is somewhat
overwhelming. Many of the weddings that occur in Austin are destination weddings meaning that most brides are not a residence of Austin, but merely have chosen this eclectic and enchanting city to repeat their vows in.
Our suggestion to any bride: Choose your vendors carefully!!
Find the vendor that has credibility, experience and a personality that you are comfortable with. Always ask other vendors who they are confident in working with and who does the best job. When meeting with vendors, ask questions like:
- How many years of experience do they have?
- What the staff consists of and who will be responsible on the day of for their delivery.
- What professional associations does a vendor belong to and what are some of their outstanding accomplishments like awards and honors.
- What is their educational background?
- Ask to see pictures and videos of previous events.
These are all important questions in choosing a vendor to be part of the most important day of your life.
Many brides are shopping for the best prices. The best price doesn’t always guarantee the best results. Websites and social media can sometimes be misleading in what a vendor is actually capable of producing. Shop wisely for all vendors that are involved in your wedding celebration for the best guaranteed results.
Our greatest advice to brides on how to simplify your wedding is to hire a wedding or event specialist to bring together the numerous details of your special day. Wedding and event specialists can certainly reduce the stress of the many details involved in the planning stages of your wedding regardless of being an in town or destination bride. The specialist will help you find the best vendors for the success of your wedding and help to plan and organize each and every detail.
As for flowers, there are so many varieties, colors and themes to choose from. The vintage look is perhaps one of the trendiest and popular looks this year. Soft nostalgic flowers such as garden roses, dusty miller, Queen Ann’s lace, gypsophila, peonies are ever so popular. Mason jars, milk glass vases and unique vintage vase collections, lanterns, broaches, bird cages, burlap fabric, pretty ribbons, laces, succulents and manzanita branches are all being combined with antique and vintage furniture to create the desired vintage feel. Movies such as the remake of, “The Great Gatsby” and the TV series, “Downton Abby” will have tremendous influence on fashion, food and décor for creating popular themes in weddings for the next several years. Art deco themes and rich opulence with mirrors and stylish vases and palm trees will provide the ambiance in many ball rooms. Large displays of calla lilies and ferns will once again gain popularity.
